Let's have some firework fun with Ken Reid's Ali Ha-Ha and the 40 Thieves from the Dandy of the early 60s.

  1. Top stuff, Irmantas - he really was one of the greats. Would kids find his style dated today? I doubt it.

  2. Inspired madness and always a pleasure...thanks for posting. He was always at his best drawing things blowing up!

btw - are you sure that last one is Ken? Could be deadline pressures, but, to my eye, it's not quiet as well drawn as the other two.

    1. The man was a genius. I believe the last one is also by him. Ken's style suffered somewhat after the nervous breakdown that he had in the early 60s. There's a possibility that someone helped him with inking on that 1962 Fireworks episode.

Looking forward to your book you might do one day based on your blog...I think you could do a book on Ken Reid also one day..

    1. The idea of putting together a paper index of COR!!, Shiver and Shake and maybe some other IPC humour titles has indeed crossed my mind a couple of times but I seriously doubt there'd be enough buyers to make this a viable "project". As for a book on Ken, who knows, maybe one day...
