5 Minute Wanda was a strip
about a loopy lass who could do things for only 5 minutes because she got bored
very quickly. It was illustrated by Graham Allen and had a very short run of just
15 weeks from 6th January, 1973 until 14th April, 1973 (Nos. 136 – 150).

ReplyDeleteThe trouble with this strip was that the premise ‘bore’ (get it?) too close a resemblance to that of Eddie, although Graham Allen’s artwork as ever can’t be faulted. Rereading it in the British Library today, I recognized Wanda straightaway from reprints in an annual I had in my distant youth, but can’t recall which! A few EBay purchases should answer this, but if you’ve got the answer to hand I’d like to have it.

DeleteIt was Jackpot Annual 1980, no less than six strips. The happy memories that flooded back as I read it yesterday!
