Joe
Colquhoun’s Cap’n Codsmouth (originally from JAG weekly comic) made three appearances in JAG Annuals, and the
final was in the last edition published for the Xmas of 1972. The complete
5-page story is posted below. One day I will get hold of a copy of JAG
Football Special 1968 and check if the episode included there was also
illustrated by Mr. Colquhoun.
Brilliant artist, isn’t he?
Superb stuff, Irmy. Do you know if he drew any other humour strips, or have you already covered that?
ReplyDeleteYes, he drew Goodies in Cor!! throughout 1973. Football Family Robinson in Jag is another humour strip that he illustrated. Also the odd one-off in an annual or a special. You can find more details and scans if you press the Joe Colquhoun label in the column on the right hand side.
DeleteI would really like to find out if the episode of International Street in Shiver and Shake 1976 Holiday Special is part of a series reprinted from an older comic.
I would love a collection of Joe Colqhoun strips. maybe Rebellion or Titan will do one now that Charley's War and Johnnny Red books were so successful...
