THE MOONSTERS COVERS OF SPARKY - PART THREE

Time for ten more early Sparky covers with the Moonsters. The first and the last ones in this post are interesting: the first one (No. 50) because it celebrates the New Year, while the last one (No. 59) because Bill Ritchie later re-drew it as the cover of Sparky Book 1968 (see my old post HERE).

  1. Superb covers, Irmy. I think your collection of comics must surpass that of most (if not all) British collectors. What have you yet to add to your collection that you regard as the 'holy grail' of your wants list?

    1. My collection is quite large but I am sure some collectors in the UK have bigger ones. As for the holy grail, or grails, I wouldn't mind completing my Sparky collection (2 issues to go) and my Buster collection (6 early issues to go)

    2. I reckon it won't take you long to track down the missing issues, Irmy. Do you bind them all when you have a full set, or do you leave them as separate issues. I know you have had comics series bound before, but I assume that's spare sets?

    3. I keep all my Sparkys as individual issues. I have only bound my Beanos and Dandys starting from 1970 until the last newsprint issues in the late 80s. I will write a blogpost about my bound volumes one day :)

  2. Its great seeing the band cover and how it develops into an annual cover..
